Kitchen Saucery
I've just ordered something to make Rob jealous (unless he's been shopping before me), The River Cottage Family Cookbook from those lovely people at Bol who had it for £7.99 (i.e. cheaper than Amazon). Oh more kitchen experimenting to go on (and hopefully quite a few onion & mushroom free receipes for Dr T).
Tonight's Kitchen Experiemnt is a Dhal (that's lentils/ split peas to the uninitiated) based curry. We would of had it last night but for a realiasation at lunchtime that lentils and soaking tend to go together. The lentils don't actually need soaking, but the split peas do! I like a nice bit of dhal with my curry (am I strange for that?), but then I go by dhal from on of the best (top 100) curry houses in the UK. Oh Light of India (in a not very scenic setting, Dover) you do make mighty fine curry. Only prob is that we can't book a table in my surname as the owner is one of my dad's clients (ever since my dad got him more compensation on business rates from a road scheme they have disagreements over payment (or rather non-payment) of the bill) .. maybe we could go there .. and book it in Tom's name! It's great curry, which is why dad goes there! He was great when I went to Bangladesh as he's from Dhaka and cooked up some traditional dishes I'd be likely to expect .. where I first encountered tarka dhal and liked it.

Saucery 'tis done. A bit on the wet side for our liking so next time not so much water. Also I think I'll add a bit more veg for tase and texture. Otherwise yummy.
