The weekend’s antics and the chance to have 3 lay ins has left me rather tired this morning when usual service commenced once more (but it is a 4 day week hurrah!).
Saturday saw us head northwards, letting the train take the strain, but not too affected by engineering works to Reading. We went to the beer and cider festival. Dr T was in his element by the vast selection of Cider and Perry available. I also had a wide variety available, but not all that much local stuff (I rather like the Kent fest set up of a Local (Kent) beer section and a everywhere else section). We saw an old face in ex-Scogui bod Ali Bear who was donned in Morris Dancing gear, having been dragged along by his parents.. they were getting free beer so he could cope with the morris group promotion along with this!
Post beer fest we hit Reading shops and I finally found a smart outfit available in my size that fitted OK .. Dr T is slightly better at shopping with me with a few pints of alcohol in him .. but still not that great. At least he managed to be a bit constructive in a couple of shops with his comments (instead of saying nothing or ‘fine’). It wasn’t quite what I was after, but after trying numerous shops to find suit jacket in a dark colour (no pastels!!!) that didn’t just say ‘Caz is well endowered and that’s it’ and failing miserably I found a suitable alternative … yippee .. and both parts are suitable for work so will get use, were reduced :) and one part is a skirt (shock horror!).
Sunday was vegetation day, with a stroll along the seafront, some mini golf (Dr T won but neither score were that low!), a pootle around Robert Dyas (which we feel should be said with a welsh accent, don’t know why). We stopped off at Akram’s where Dr T purchased 5kg of Jasmine Fragrant rice (for not much more than supermarket basmati) and me various other ethnic food items. Before the weekly trip for food (Asda was this week’s choice) that didn’t seem that much of a chore due to the preceding activities).
Monday was the Times film fest (so that’s Robots for 55p). Robots I feel was far better than Incredibles in my opinion but Dr T begs to differ. We also saw the Orange Film Wednesdays that made us think about the Pay as you Go orange phone I have gathering dust as Dr T refuses to use it. I think we will be dusting it off for a bit of 2 4 1 film going! We then tried to get cheaper tickets for IFOS, but the £20 advance ones seem to be the only discount you can get for Saturday. Lunch was out at Wetherspoons (as usual on the 2 for £6.50 deal). Bus home as I was drinking for once!
Lots of relaxation, lots of activity, that’s Bank Holidays for you! Just gotta wait until he end of the month for another one (but that’s probably going to be used on Uni revision :().

Isn't it amazing that after spending a day lookiing at construction drawings you end up feeling in a slightly odd mood. Much like going to Asda whilst slightly tiddled apparently...
