He Lives!!!
I had a surprise call on my mobile today, a nice surprise ... it was Pinky! One of the benefits of living not too far from Pinkyparentland is that we get to catch up with Mr Pink every so often.
A plan to meet in the area of The Round Tower (aka Portsmouth Harbour entrance) post work was hatched (partly due to free 2 hour parking in this area ....). Rendez vous happened on the top of the Round Tower, a bit of chatting, boat watching and photographing, bit more chatting and photos but it started to get a bit nippy as the sun started to set, so we headed for the Still & West for a drink and some warmth (even if Fullers brewed HSB isn't the same) and some inside based boat watching ... then some nightime Spinnaker Tower photos and a visit to the East St floodgate before returning to cars and saying our farewells.
So both Dr T & Pinky have quite few photos from our get together.
So we can confirm that Pinky is alive & well ... I hugged him goodbye earlier!
Mind you tonight also reminded me of how lucky we are living by the sea ... Pinky in the midlands doesn't have this really unless he heads for Pinkyparentland ... but I maybe take it for granted being by the sea by spending my working life on the coast, but actually it takes something like this for me to take the time to appreciate and just enjoy the calm sea lapping on the beach on a sunny spring day. Maybe its just that these days I tend to see it more when the weather is at its worse.
... so thanks Pinky for giving me the chance to appreciate the place I live once more...
