Interesting Times ahead...
Last Thursday I got what I've wanted for a little while and will allow me to go swimming again with only worrying about my wobbly bits (and hopefully they will end up not wobbling as much!) ... as I'm getting UVB treatment for my skin when my name gets to the front of the list (immediately after SAGGA AGM time)! For UVB treament read a 'what not to wear' 360 mirror cubicle but with sunbed type tubes instead of mirrors..
But it will prove an interesting time as I have to juggle 3 short hospital visits a week, work (which also includes making up that hospital time as they are less than 1/2day so not sick leave ...) & the social life ... for 3 months (bring on July!!!).
I'm more apprehensive about the whole making time up without exhausting myself with all the running about between office, sites & the hospital (at least it St Mary's which is easy to get to & from). Section HR were less than helpful in working out a solution to all the appointments (they stated the whole hospital appointments = flexi ... not twigging how many appointments 3 times a week x 3 months tots up to!) ... but then this is a section when we're asked what we'd like them to do many sections are found to be saying 'work' ... they seem to do very little for us these days (mileage, training courses, flex sheets all get sorted in sections, recruitment is corporate ... its about the sick sheets and the leave cards once a year...). Fortunately I have a really nice line manager these days who was happy for me to work really flexibly so that I can get my work hours in and get to all the appointments and still remaining a living working person! Mind you I know Monday night craft night will only be once a fortnight for the next 4 months to allow me to play catch up as I can't do the quick turn around needed if I work even 1/2hr later....
But come the end and I'll be happy and hopefully for the first time in about 7 years I'll be happy to enter a swimming pool, won't have to worry how rubbish my skin is when clothes shopping as I won't be thinking what I need to cover up! I'm looking forward to some time without the nightly gunk session (15mins more sleep!)... mind you that assumes it works for me, but as a dose of sunshine does wonders I'm holding out lots of hope for it...
.... so it will be an interesting if hectic time, hopefully its only the skin that gets a bit frazzled and not a Caz...
