Cookery Experiment time

Having tried to do Chocolate Brownies a la Masterchef cookbook (did half quants) which ended up a bit dry and very crumbly for Brownies (of the cake type not yellow blob type) its time for a new receipe. As Dr T is rather picky to try new stuff on (why does most stuff I like the sound of have onions or mushrooms in ...) it's SAGGA's turn. Although the bit did say bring a cake (in Guide Camp style) I'm not a cake fan (as well as it prob not travelling well), so I decided to go along a biscuit route.

For camp I am making Afghans from the Edmonds Cookbook (NZ Institution, everyone has a Edmonds cookbook in their kitchen ... the afghans are pretty NZ too...). So what's an afghan biscuitI hear you ask? Well its basically a chocolate biscuit, with choclate icing and then a piece of walnut on the top. Although I rather fancy making Anzac Biscuits too as I find them really yummy (syrupy, oatey, coconutty cookies). What the heck I may make both ...

Anzac Quality control tasted good last night (I find them rather moreish). Afghans didn't come out as well as hoped ... I think next time just use melted chocolate instead of Chocolate icing. 'co of this and the huge size the anzac spread to I might do another batch of anzac (and their dead easy to make!).

Caz, I have an amazing recipe for chocolate brownies ripped from a magazine years ago. When I took them into work for my b'day they were declared "heavenly" and didn't last very long. I assure you that this is not the normal standard of my cooking! If you want the recipe you can have it... When I find it again!
