Mercredi Orange

Last night Dr T & I used 'Ye olde paye as ye go' orange phone (complete with dodgy lost pixel display) to obtain 241 tickets (or rather 1 for the 10p text cost). After all we don't have quite enough ipoints for our next pair of tickets to UCI.

So we pootled off island (hmm I think it must have been high tide as it wasn't smelly), and decided to partake of dinner at Lloyds (the only non-extortionate eatery in Port Solent) before our film choice for the night.

For we finally saw "War of the Worlds" in a fairly packed cinema (only showing yesterday of the film) and we suspected most of the audience had an orange phone there.... Hmm my YG's decription of Dakota Fanning's poor acting was true ("her acting seemed to be just screaming and looking scared"), why not the quality of the stuff in Taken? Mr Cruise was reasonably good, but it just wasn't right being done in modern day stylee. I got annoyed with the metallic groans after a while for I wanted to see more of the tripods that surprised me about how little they were shown for. I could have done with a bit more action from the rest of the cast other than screamy girl and Mr Cruise ....

It was entertainment for the evening but won't be on my DVD list to buy.
