Blob watching ...

Last night was the last night of the school year for the yellow blobs. So continuing on from last year we went down to Canoe Lake (a seawater pond, home to some pedelos & model warships on sundays, but no canoes) for the meeting. Once more the glorious daytime weather changed for the meeting, but at least we weren't rained on this year! (last 10 mins of last year).

The blobs ran around lots, could be noisy (the whole of canoe lake park would have heard the blobs saying good night) as we weren't in the church hall (scary vicar gets upperty if we do noisy stuff between 6:30pm to 7pm ish (about 1/2 the meeting) as its evensong, at least they have now put soundproof between the halls and church now (halls are at the end of the church & not DDA friendly)). We skipped (not allowed in their primary schools, they might hurt each other), long rope skipping being more favoured. We had Canadian Girl Guide biscuits, saw 2 off to Guides having completed their Go for It Guides which they got last night.

Mind you Canoe Lake was a bit of a blob zone as another pack decided to come down to the park for some outside fun, we guessed they were the pack that meets up the road from the park, but in another district. Our Div Comm visited us (but she was actually after the other Blobs) so said hello briefly to our lot.

Most amusing bit of the night was the couple who spent most of the evening under the trees next to where we were playing; they seemed to spend a great deal of time snogging each other. The presence of blobs didn't seem to bother them, us Guiders felt we'd personally rather not have a load of running yellow blobs about whilst we were trying to be lovey dovey! Not that the blobs were fussed about the lovers under the trees.
