Parrrrty!!!

Party week has come to a close in Portsmouth, and it seems very much the day after the week before today.

We have been in festive mood since Tuesday when queenie came down as did 300,000 (pop. Of Pompey =190,000) other people for ship spotting. It was described by one person in the paper as crowds like Glastonbury, instead of musicians they’re looking at ships! Then it was in the theme for IFoS at the Drumhead Ceremony; Past Present and Future. Remembrance of those lost in past conflicts, those currently serving and the future of the nation through children. Finally Thursday came and the ‘4 amazing days in summer’ known as IFoS was upon us. I went on Saturday along with Dr T & my Parents. We went on some boats, perused some boats, walked lots and were thoroughly exhausted by the end. The city has certainly been busy with visitors all week. It’ll be rather nice to have the city back to ourselves for a while.

The sun may not have shined all the time but everyone had a good time… that the party city of Pompey for you.
