Red Blob Invasion ...

The invasion happened … we had 10 red blobs descend on us and we survived. We also didn’t make any of them cry, although 1 did almost cry in a game but we re-jigged it so the Rainbows were more at ease. I think overall that it was very successful. Our Brownies seemed to enjoy having the Rainbows over and the Rainbows enjoyed being at Brownies. Some knew each other from the various schools (1 even knew one from her ‘Walking Bus’, good to see they happen around here). I think we might have the Brownies ask to do this again, but next time I think the Brownies will have more input. Some of the Red Blobs were really little, the littlest one (her tabard swamped her) was also the funniest/ most outgoing of the lot.

We got one name on our joining list (but we knew that was going to happen), and we’ll see how many others join her. I think all the Rainbows are now looking forward to being old enough to go to Brownies (whether its to our unit or the unit ran by the Rainbow leader, that happens after Rainbows). We also had a little sister join the list (she’s not going to let her mum forget that she can join when she’s 7) last night.

So hopefully the future’s rosy for our unit.
