Survived the IOW!

Today, as some of my readership will know from my trip to Redditch, I went to the Isle of Wight with my yellow blobs today.

We went on the Hovercraft from Southsea (beach bit of Pompey) to Ryde which created lots of ooh and arrh from the blobs. One of the kids' programmes yesterday had about how hovercraft work, as well as it seems various parents explaining! It was certainly one of the highlights of the day (and I think the only commercial service in the UK).

We then had a quick change of plans due to a ice hockey tournement we found out about at the rink ... so afternoon became the morning, and morning the afternoon: We hit the High Street (up a hill, something alien to Portsmouth), blobs spent pocket money (so happy), followed by a sandy beach. The oohs and arrhs started again at the sight and feel of sand (we then realised that to an 8ish year old living on a Shingle beach city the sight of sand is fab!).

Then to ice skating (my legs are a bit achey from the skating), we had lots of blobs clinging to the side to start with. But by the end all bar 2 had made it into the centre and back (numerous times) on their own. Certainly they all "did their best" today so we were all really chuffed with them. I didn't really need to do too much picking up of fallers, more coaxing some clingers off the edge (aided very well by 2 much-skated Brownies). They all seemed to have really enjoyed themselves. We were all tired by the time we came off the 4pm Hovercraft from Ryde!!!

Back to the revision, as exam is tomorrow .... think I got what needs to be in my head except for maybe 1 equation in my head. Crossed fingers for tomorrow.
