Things from the weekend…

Finally made it to see Hitchikers “The Movie”. Hmm bit undecided on that (as I think Dr T is), the bits the beeb series covered were we felt better done by the beeb, the new bits in the movie were good. Once you got past the too long bit on the dolphins, I cringed a lot at the council bulldozer scene at the start .. the last thing allowed on site these days is alcohol!!! I particularly found the knitted Heart of Gold scene amusing! I can see Si’s love of Zooey Deschel (?sp) is well founded, alas not much for us girls to look at in that area. Bill Nighy was good as Slatibartfast. I think the beeb Guide was better (although all done on stopframe animation), but can see why they dispensed with the words for dubbing purposes on the movie. The major thing I missed in the movie was the restaurant at the end of the universe. I’ve seen it, but doubt I’ll be buying it on DVD.

We’ve looked at PH houses for the SAGGA AGM 2007… looks like foxlease (Barn & the new Princess Margaret House) is all go … just got to wait until March 2006 to book it!

On the way back from there to Pompey we dropped in on Dr T’s mum so ended up at Windover Tesco (just off J8, M27) for the weekly shop. I got all excited with their new works/ extension as they now have a mezzanine level (clothing & electrical) so now feature a travelator a la Cite Europe Carrefour … Dr T found it highly amusing my excitement towards this item.

Sunday was a day of sleeping, GP and relaxation … Roll on next weekend for 3 days off. You never know we might make it to the cinema again and see Star Wars.
