I am currently getting impatient for time to pass. The reason is I want to have sat the module exam for the unit I have been doing at Uni (the theory behind my job essentially so some parts of the revision are easy!). This signifies that its less than a week until I get on cheapo airlines to the maple leaf country of Canada (Queenie is checking the place out for me first).

Oooh I’m like a small child in a sweet shop at the moment, watch out Dr T it’s only going to get worse. Why all the excitement you ask? Well that would be because I’m not had a proper holiday since 2001 (Malta for a week with my family). Yep I went to NZ in ’03, whilst it was nice and NZ is a fab place I was with some company I’d prefer not to be with (Sarah excepted ... she kept me sane, nay we kept each other sane) and I rather missed sharing the experience with the good doctor (added to the fact the highlight tour was rather package like … very not me). Although the bargain for me getting another trip to NZ (this time with Dr T) was that we went to Canada first. Join that with the novelty of going away with Dr T and only Dr T (i.e. not sharing him with SCOGUI, BUSAG PMA & SAGGA), I think that’s leading to most of the excitement.

So in 3 weeks time we shall be in transit to Niagara Falls for a couple of nights (going via some rather large seaway locks … guess what postcard I’m sending back to work) at the start of what will be hopefully a rather enjoyable and relaxing holiday. After the ups and downs of work in the last 18 months it will be a pleasant relief. Mind you I’m also looking forward to a bit of shopping (gear shopping as its cheaper, and clothes for work that don’t feature static inducing tendencies {our workplace is so bad people wear rubber soled shoes so they don’t get shocks when going near the metal button to let them out of swipe area}).

As well as the Falls, I’m rather looking forward to our night away camping in a provincial park that’s home to Ontario’s sand dunes, along with a jaunt over to Quebec (its only Hull so not proper Quebec) whilst in Ottawa.

Roll on June I want to go on my hols …. (she sits waiting for time to pass). Only 1 SAGGA Committee meeting, 1 Brownie trip, 2 Brownie meetings, a Guide meeting (the night before we have to get 0630hrs train!), 1 exam (for me) and 4 pieces of Coursework for Dr T to go ….
