Gaffer Tape

Gaffer Tape (or Duck/ Duct tape as you may call it) it a truely wonderful substance.

It's used much in the construction industry (why use sellotape when you can this stuff). Scouting and Guiding find many uses for it as well. I never travel without it (it's fixed twirling fans in Bangladesh, secured a case back from Canada (my sister didn't want Heathrow to see the contents of her case on baggage reclaim), fixed wing mirrors), so it will go with me on our forthcoming trip.

It also seems to be the choice of the cost cutting council here ... why repair carpets when you can stick some gaffer tape down. I know of 4 different locations where this is the case within 20m of my desk. One day we might loose the dark beige carpet .. but not before its become a floor of gaffer tape!
