Musical Baton pick up
I decided to pick up a musical baton that someone's left lying about (must be that pre-parental visit tidying mode I'm in).
Total volume of music files on my computer?
Well none on my computers, but on the hard disc player (& backup DVDs) we have our entire CD collections in .ogg format (except for my last purchase). It’s less than 20GB as that’s what Dr T’s music player capacity is. Oops correction not quite all the collections as the Classical stuff isn’t on it yet.
The last CD I bought was?
Afterglow by Sarah McLachlan, bought on my hols in Toronto, been out for ages but not got round to buying it.
Song playing right now?
Doing this at work … hmm last song I remember today was “Come on Eileen” on the car radio as I headed back from site. That’s Ocean FM for you (Best of 80s, 90s & now).
Five songs I listen to a lot/mean a lot to me?
Hmm only 5… So in no particular order …
Beatles, that’s my dad’s music taste we grew up with. I’ve gone for “The Benefit of Mr Kite” off Sgt Pepper, not from my dad but school, we did Sgt Pepper as the School production at the end of my 1st yr, I was in the band and we all dressed as hippies. This was my favourite song in the production, and still I love the album.
ABBA, that’s mum’s (and the cat’s transportation choice) influence; I think I’ll go for Dancing Queen, if only for my sister & I’s hairbrush & parquet flooring performances when younger. Just lots of happy mood, car singalong tunes.
Barenaked Ladies – If I had Million Dollars (best band I’ve seen live, they make seeing music live great). Kraft Dinner (aka Cheesy Pasta in the UK) will never be the same again!
Enya – Wild Child (soppy moment, played lots when Dr T & started going out), I still regularly listen to the album (just not when driving it relaxes me too much!).
Mmm need some 80s; I think it has to be “Come on Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners, an essential of School Discos when younger.
Why can’t I have a top ten?… there’s some others I want to put in there….
So in a slight change to other blogs I'm passing the baton to some of my readership ... Dr T, CMT, TWM II & Sarah make your musical tastes known ... oh stuff it, any of my readership can make their tastes known!

Erm, it's a 40GB player, with, let me see (plugs in player which appears as a hard disk), currently 5,077 tracks occupying 26.7GB. Still got collections, soundtracks, and classical albums to rip.
Ok Here goes,
Total volume of music files on my computer?
It appears we hve 1.56MG on our computer mainly in MP3 format.
The last CD I bought was?
Nursery Rhymes so Phil and I don't drive each other mad with singing to the little one in the car....Turns out he prefers us to the CD.......
Song playing right now?
No music on as Phil is reading Alex a bedtime story next door but if I could it would probably be The Cutter and The Clan by Runrig, or Road Rage by Great Big Sea
Five songs I listen to a lot/mean a lot to me?
Five is not a lot is it.......
In no special order
I drove all night by Roy Orbison which I remember being mad about when it first came out, If it is playing in a shop even now I don't leave until it finishes.
Poison by Alice Cooper
I don't know why it is an altime fav but it is.
Everyday by Buddy Holly
This takes me back to my music roots, from which a love of folk, rock and rock and roll stems.
Boston to St Johns (from Road Rage) by Great Big Sea, for all of us who have had long distance relationships.
ahhhhh Only one left....so much to choose from
I think it will have to be New England by Billy Bragg cause it is going round my head right now.
So much other stuff could be on the list if I filled it in on a differnt day.
