Things that go woosh!
On Tuesday we did one of my favourite Brownie activities; pop bottle rockets. Despite having a few Brownies do this activity before (PH & an international activity day) there were no complaints at doing it again!
So in the middle of one of our local parks we set about making and launching the rockets .... all went well and all the Brownies had great fun. The Brownies were all desperate to get wet from the rocket launching off the pad (well its one way to cool off in the sunny weather we're having).
Only bummer is I can't do it for a while :( for fear of getting broing, suppose I can pass on this wonderful activity to my mum's Brownies in the meantime...
Much thanks to Dr T for cork MKIII which follows on from MKII (which incorporated a inner tube/foot pump for faster launching than the original) by the use of Araladite for glueing the inner tube to the cork, strong adhesive having started to leak after about 30 launches.
Hmmm could always try and fit it the launcher kit into the luggage allowance for SAGGA Summer Camp? Anybody interested? You provide the 2 litre pop bottles & card (corragated for fins & cereal box for nose cone) ... I'll sort out the launcher.

sounds fab, am I too young? Alex
My little sister's Guides are now borrowing it for their camp (My sister even managed to get Peach Surprise as pudding for my visit over without planning to!).
Hmm have to see whether I can get it back here for Summer Camp....
Alex, I think you have plenty of time to play with this, ask your playmate Patrick to make you one?
