Hmm been a while since the last post .. but then no a lot has been happening.
The NCE Communications Competition has been looming up for the ICE South round. I’m the team leader for our team so have been chasing the lads (ie the rest of the team) to get their stuff sorted in time! I had a bit of a stressy session on Monday night as I tried to get our leaflet to print out to a full A4 sheet size (ie not with a white margin around the edge) which involved a loft visit to get down my printer (which does to edge printing) … which then did I’ve run out of a colour a bit and won’t print anymore! So Dr T finally decided to become co-operative at about 11/11:30pm (having tried to start this printing at 8:30pm on his A3 printer/ computer). Unlike many couple on Monday rather than be lovey dovey I was getting rather aggro with Dr T and his lack of support/ co-operation (until really too late when bed was really required for me). The stuff went in the post yesterday and should have arrived today which is the closing date for the written bit. At the moment I can’t wait for Tuesday to arrive so it can get all done and dusted (assuming we come the honourable second once more so don’t have to do the next round, the lads and bosses want us to win after last year’s second) and can relax once more.
Outside work type stuff we went walking in the (New) Forest on Sunday as part of a Solent SAGGA get together. We turned off the A31 (found at the end of M27) and it started to hail/ sleet/ snow all swirling around due to the wind (think real wintery moorland type scene) … the car temp gauge read 0C .. we met in the car park and started to umm what to do until the lunch booking at the pub as it really wasn’t weather to be walking in (we’d left our respective cities in mild, possible damp conditions) … during the 15min wait for the last car to turn up the blizzard effect stopped and we started to see a bit of blue sky so decided to don the boots but park a car in the pub car park for a get out clause if the weather turned again. As we had done this it didn’t but we ended up being a bit lazy (partly due to the service for walkers in the pub being very slow) we finished at car spot 1 and not where the walk had started; having let the cider lovers purchase some goods at New Forest cider which was on the route from the pub to car spot 1. We even managed to pop in on Dr T’s mum on the way back so Dr T could drop off her card as it was her birthday! (He still hasn’t got the pressie!)
This Sunday is another lunch out .. Dr T’s Birthday/ Pre-baby (my friend’s I hasten to add) Dinner at the all you can eat chinese next to the tower … so we shan’t be eating a lot Saturday to leave room for all those yummy starters they have on offer. Hmm cripsy seaweed and satay sauce … apple fritter … prawn toast .. better stop before Homer Simpson like tendencies occur.
