My it's been over a week since my last post and Dr T is wanting a new post to look at.
So what have I been up to....
Well Monday was the first of 2 trips up to the Big Smoke to OGGS (aka ICE HQ) where I had the 2nd session of the ICE Mentoring Programme that I'm on, I've got a really nice female engineer as a mentor (its females mentees only on this year's programme as it an easy small quantity to find in the institution, last year it was EU funded and had to be female only, this year is ICE funded). We had a training session on Emotional Intelligence which was interesting, followed by a really useful and reviving chat with my mentor afterwards where I discussed some of my Chartered Review concerns and weakeness that need to be sorted before sitting the review. I even started to put the chat into action on the train home so have a base to write my 4000 word Project Review on.
This Monday I have the ever so thrilling seminar on 'The EU Water Directive' woohoo excitment (I jest!) but another bump up for the flexi hours :)
My Fender Repairs started on Monday and were going well until today when they were having air hammer problems (like it was braking down and then started to fall apart), so didn't replace the rubber they were hoping to. Next week it continues and should be done by the end of the week .... maybe a bit of nightwork (on OT :)) if needed but our one concern point went well so hopefully not needed.
However I shall be working tomorrow morning... I should have originally been working this evening on a berthing trial but it been put back to tomorrow morning (these have a habit of being delayed). So tomorrow morning I shall take myself down to the ferryport and take photos of various bit of ferry on the Linkspan and where it's passenger acess hole is in relation to the sideloader. It something we take turns doing and it my turn again and I'm free. The main hassle is that it means I don't get a lay in.
Talking of lay in .... Dr T is currently having a snooze on the bed ... but he was in bed when I left for work .... that's students for you. Mind you I may be becoming an Associate Student in the near future and undertaking the Harbour and Coastal Engineering module to give me the theory on what I do practically. It all a bit scary, the main scary bit being that the head of the department is someone I remember as a freshly PhD'd tutor! We just have try and get the money side sorted (to get the module fully acredited for me) along with hours (which is needed even if I turn up for free at lectures as a Department Grad & employee of a 'valued industrial partner').
Then Sunday its a bit of meeting of SAGGA bloggers as its committee meeting time again ... hmm better get those receipts together and look up how many members we have ....
