This weekend I was good and did the latest round of SAGGA Sub chasing, as I want to get as many debtors in by the time April the 1st comes around again (and maybe this year I’ll even pay my subs on time!). This usually also generates more post for me (I still like getting post of the junk variety), and paying lots of money which always keeps Andy happy as Treasurer.
Alas I think on Thursday I will be spending more of my hard earned cash with my (private :() dentist. You see at New Year a bit of my tooth chipped/broke off, I got my mum (a dentist) to have a quick look as it was next to my 1/2tooth filling (thats chilled Elizabeth Shaw Mints for you, my tooth crumbled (not normal) at two of my best mates’ wedding) at the time of realisation (and Tom took a photo as this act amused him). However on Saturday things in the tooth (Upper Left 7 for the dentistry minded) department took a turn for the worst as at lunchtime part of the remaining inner edge sheared off (from the bit I retrieved it’s a sheared surface break). Then later as I brushed my teeth before bed I had a slightly metallic taste sensation as the filling finally came out (I had felt it had slipped from about Thursday). Oh dear there isn’t much left of my poor tooth left, the more concerning thing is the lack of pain … so if it comes out, it comes out …. That’ll teach me for taking a week and a half to contact the dentist.
I’ve also been good and set my mentees on their way towards the GGUK Leadership Qualification (YLs only … but we’re going to try and flex things for the recently turned 18 year olds as there aren’t really any adult mentors in our part of the world, the reason they weren’t signed off until now was that I didn’t get the mentor training for over a year!). But just to annoy me they are still being cheap skates and sending out the old scheme book (it was amended last year) and won’t spend the extra few quid on the right scheme book, mind you through the Guiding message board I’m on at least I’ve got a conversion chart (wasn’t sent one with the packs … great for me there as a 1st time mentor).
Oh well more paperwork to sort out all round …. But getting there.
