The weekend was busy but nice, although I’m currently feeling rather tired and don’t have a lot to occupy myself with at work at the moment (which in my book is worse than having too much work to do).

Saturday was a day in the Big Smoke on my own … the planned route utilising my travelcard worked well. Therefore my Brownies have enough badges etc. to last until the end of the next batch of new brownies as well as the interest badge to be earned this term (thus us not having to wait a month to get them through the county system!). I have a new stamp album so finally after all these years various other countries don’t end up with the overspill of GB, USA and others. Mind you I’ve pretty much filled up the album and still have quite a few extra leaves to fit in … looks like I’ll be getting another album soon! Then it was to the well endowed bra shop…. Oh I was in bliss with the selection I had available to me. I did note when I went down to try on my selection of 8 bras (and there were more available in my size oooh novelty!) that other than the bra shop’s catalogue the only other reading available was GQ or FHM … can guess who the sofas are for? Then it was out to Bethnal Green to visit the Museum of Childhood (part of the V&A), alas this was on the stale disappointing side, it was a lot of cabinet stuff and only limited interactive play stuff. I then headed back on one of the fab bus routes (No.8, which gives you an excellent tour of the city of London from brick Lane ending in Oxford Street) stopping off for platzel & beigel buying at the 24hr beigel shop. I hopped off earlier than usual and headed to Piccadilly and Fortnum & Mason, in search of beer coolers a la rapid ice. After having used the facilities and tried to find them in various places I returned to my first location in the store, kitchen equipment … and found them, they had confused me by calling them ‘water coolers’ and I hadn’t noticed that they were smaller than the wine rapid ice (the other side of the champagne cooler). As my informant said they have the whole range and they cost the same as elsewhere, so I got 2 having spent too long trying to find them elsewhere … just need to stick them in the freezer so next time I want a beer I can slightly chill it for optimum taste (but not too much as this is proper beer!).

Sunday was the sticking of stamps in new (country free, smart adult) album and removal from old album so that if I have any queries I can ask the stamp guru that is my dad (I have a former USSR type country query on one of the stamps) next weekend. They do look a lot nicer done out in their sets without having to be crammed onto pages. Afternoon was spent depositing jumble, drinking coffee, chatting and admiring the partly tiled new bathroom at Mr & Mrs C’s.
It was then back home for Scrapheap Challenge, a bit more stamp sorting, Top Gear, Himalaya and bed …

Hmm Himalaya next week is a definite record number (out on the social whirl then), as they are going into downtown Dhaka and following the Bramaputa (?sp) to the Indian ocean, hmm I’ll be dreaming of Bangladesh again next week then.

Hurrah indeed! My mum is rather looking forward to her forthcoming trip to London .. she's planning on leaving my dad in the Strand looking at new stamp catalogues & philatelic items whilst she enjoys herself in Bravissimo! (hmm can you guess where I get my well endoweredness from?)
