Its already the middle of the week and I've only just got the chance to update my blog.
Well we watched the GP by which time the weather had turned so we didn't head towards the seafront. But did walk along Goldsmith Ave for Dr T to catch the train home. We walked because it was the South Coast Derby of Pompey Vs Soton ... we saw the riot police (herding the last of the Soton fans), dogs (keeping some ppl who wouldn't be watching the match), miriadas (?sp) and evidence of horses. Alas this didn't work for those who keep in touch with the news as a few people (I won't call them fans as they obviously don't care for Pompey) bringing what was an excellent match (Pompey won and beat Soton for the first time since the 60s) into a bad incident. Why do some people still see these matches as a reason to be destructive in the name of football? The docks strike that cause the 'scummer' call against Soton people (Dr T claims he's not one) happened generations ago but still the divide exists.
On other Pompey news finally demolition started on the Tricorn Centre! This has been on the books since before I arrived in Pompey for Uni in 93! Mind you the Civ Eng department will have to find another location for students to study defective concrete.
