Why does everything on site have to be so last minute? It would seen that the revised method statement (ie how they are going to the work) for the removal and installation on the linkspans has yet to be received… and when are the barges due in? oh, that would be this afternoon.
Also on another front I will be trying to find an NHS dentist sometime soon, before I spend too long on a plane with my lovely dodgy ½ a tooth filling (sometimes is plays up and sometimes it doesn’t when flying) and one of my bottom teeth doesn’t seem quite right. This is in the hope that I don’t spend the first week of the trip downing ibuprofen in the aim of stopping it hurting. I hope I find one but I don’t hold out much hope so I think I will have to end up going private which is totally against my beliefs, but my mum only does old dears (she is the denture queen of east Kent) now so I can’t see her. It seems in a world of dentistry now, where they all seem to be after money, my mum is the one of the few people who believes in the NHS. It also scares me that for the first time in my life I’ll have a dentist who isn’t either my mum or one of her friends!
Also this morning I have been called ‘Teflon girl’ by one of the port operations people because I manage to pass everything monetarily responsible onto someone else … I don’t plan it that way … I just must be naturally tefloned!
I shall now have some lunch before our big toy comes into the berth (aka a large floating crane capable of lifting at least 800T!)
