Back to the grindstone once more after the weekend ....

Was up in big London town on Saturday to meet the rest of the NZ crowd, the one person I feared was a dragon I still have a niggling doubt over but I can live with it for 3 weeks, partly because I got on so well with the next youngest person in the group and the rest of the group are all pretty jolly and friendly. We are all getting rather excitied with the fact that in a month's time we'll be at the conference. Also we had quite good news on the tour front, as its only the brits for the North Island tour we'll just have a minibus for that, so maybe we might be able to squeeze in some extras if wanted! I've also been watching all the extra bits on the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Version) which is all NZ heavy ... hmmm not much longer to go before I escape this place :)

Sunday was spent not doing an awful lot other than washing, sleeping and washing up ... and when I went to put out my washing I realised the landlord had rigged up some hooks on the walls (my washing line was previously on various bits of drainpipe) when he cleared the yard of all the previous upstairs inhabitants rubbish they left behind, what a nice landlord I have (he also gives a bottle of wine at xmas!). The sign now says 'Let by' so hopefully I'll find out who my new upstairs flat inhabitants are soon.

But in the meantime its back to site life which is fine except for the fact that I feel there is a major lack of commuication between the people in Civic on this and me (like the both of them took Friday off, neither put it on their leave cards and neither had the courtesy to let me know) so I wasn't a happy bunny on Friday. We are plodding along and on the orginal programme we were due to finish at the end of the week but have delays so I'll be returning to site after NZ (not quite as planned) but at least the Civils will be finished well before the upper deck comes into operation. Friday wasn't helped by finding out the linkspan programme for the next two weeks which means I'm definately missing the Cov Beer festival as I have to see a linkspan be installed that weekend (well at least the OT can go on NZ) and for a while Leicester (this weekend coming) was loooking dodgy but I've managed now to get out of having to work it.

I suppose I better get on with some more work, I feel some diary write up coming on as I'm a bit behind ....
... I've just made a phone call into Civic about a site problem and had them moaning to me about something that is a contractor problem ... I feel its going to be one of those weeks ... bring on Friday!
