BNL Are Me ... today for sure!
Yesterday in the Post I had two items from Canada ... 1 MEC Catalogue with things for outdoors fun in the Canadian Wilds (and lots of snow… one day I will experience Canadian Snow!) and 1 CD.
Whilst the MEC catalogue is probably a good read (destined for bathroom) I’ve not had the chance to look. This post is about the CD
None of Si’s first lines will be in it, as it’s the new Barenaked Ladies Album (bargain £7.39 inc free p&p from over the pond, along with a bonus acoustic version, as raised on their (free) fan club e-mails).
So what do I think of ‘Barenaked Ladies Are Me’ so far … the acoustic version is in the car (trip in and 1 site visit so far), and the original version in the work comp CD player with earphones added for music while you work … So far it’s a really good album … can’t wait for them to play it live from the first half of the album I’ve heard so far! Roll on the autumn/ winter when they are meant to be hitting UK shores (will it be Soton or Portsmouth … or somewhere larger for me?) .
The sticker on the cellophane says ‘their most melodic and accessible album since Stunt’ and I have to say I agree. This album I feel is up with Stunt and Gordon on the BNL album to grab when after a CD for the car. Its more chilled than Gordon, I’d say really good Sunday music … and music to work to.
Easy is on now and I feel it’s a car tune … a nice long stretch of road in the Fab (in Silver Bullet mode) with the foot down (just after the turbo has kicked in!) throw in a good engineering structure for a huge grin.
Just need to kick some tunes off the HDplayer for this to go on … and boot up the Ogg Ripper (.ogg is such a cool file extension name!).
So if you don’t hear from me in a while I’ll be buried under Guiding paperwork listening to my new BNL album!
...and the 'for sure' bit comes from camp in the summer ... Canadian speak for definately right.
