Signing 3-5 years away?

The deed is done, I’ve got my pre-appointment card and induction pack as DC. There’s no going back now.

Hopefully I’ll get a nice tutor for the induction programme (ie not a patronising old Guider), and it seems I’m going to sort out my mentor for YL stuff myself at the same time (and I’ve been given a couple of names to plug that I know I’d get on with) which should have been sorted long ago by others (that bit rather shocked the CC!).

Next major hurdle is the 1st District Meeting … I plan to be rather business like over the whole matter to get through the stuff as quick as possible to allow us all to go home at even earlier hour! They have a tendency to go off topic, which is the main thing I’ll be curbing. All things willing hopefully it will pass off without incident. 1st training comes just before my birthday with …CRB … now I’m going to swallow hard lots there and agree to disagree lots too as the way our Region goes about it causes me some concern as well as adding extra paperwork compared to the Scouts way of working. It’s going to be a bit of egg sucking training to get the bit of paper I need to keep everyone happy.

So if you've got any ideas/suggestions for how to have a happy District of Guiders let me know. I'm starting with a new contact sheet so it easier for us to contact each other (as half of us have lost them, and they're 5 years old anyway) and sort out giving out the long overdue service awards...
