Does my bum look big?
Hmm I'm not sure if my bum has grown in the last hour ... as I've agreed (with conditions, I'm not a total mug) to become DC, following our District Meeting this evening. Basically I will keep the district ticking over but don't expect me to run lots of district events, and I've not had to take on the most concerning issue of finding replacement leaders (one unit is sorted that wasn't ... still need to sort out the other, which the DivComm is doing) which I don't really have time to sort out. I have to turn up for Div meetings awayway as YL Guider, and we usually go to District if only to pass on info/ sort stuff out; so hopefully not much time other than sorting out CRB forms (which through SAGGA I've got lots of experience on!).
It must be in the genes somewhere as that now makes it 3 generations for DCs as well as Guiders. Hmm will try and pick up some tips from mum who completed her time just under 5 years ago now.
Also think of me as you're tucked up in bed as my working day isn't quite comeplete... as I have a ship fit due at Midnight tonight (so is it actually starting the day early). At least its turned a bit milder this evening so my toes won't be quite as frozen when I climb into bed in the early hours. Who says council workers (although I class myself as an Engineer first) only work office hours?

Congratulations Caz...eBay has some navy blue knickers available!
I may have a selection of blue knickers (M&S with lyrca are the pants of choice), but that's only because I don't like PINK!! I also don't have a blue knicker frame of mind ... I have a raspberry knicker mind (a friend & I decided this was the phrase to use with Guiders who wish to cut through by-laws and push the boundaries on what Guiding does).
Is the selection process similar to Cinderella and her shoe, except that in this case it's whoever shall fill the guiding knickers is the chosen one, and she shall lead the other Guiders onwards???
Alas its not quite Cinderella! It was the case if it wasn't me it'd be the other non YG Guider I do Brownies with (athough apparently our county now thinks Young means anything under 40 from her adult support hat!). I've managed to loose the things I didn't want to take on :) so just left with stuff I'm happy to do. Even better, I found out last night that I have someone to take the minutes (who just happens to work along the corridor from me!) without asking! Hmm does this bode well for a better session as DC? (the last one was a very cliquey Guider). The first thing on my hit list? That'll be 5 years worth of outstanding long service awards ... so that the Guiders in the district are actually thanked for the time they've given!
