Card Selling

Monday I brought my cards in to sell at work, I was rather nervous about this however as I wasn’t sure what their attitude towards my cardmaking skills would be. In the end it was nothing to worry about as they loved them! So I went home £15 up on card sales that day :).

Then they came out last night, as it was district meal … alas not so good, with only 2 cards sold, but hopefully it will form a trickle throughout the run up to GM. It was a bit of a disappointment after the surprise of how well it went Monday.

Then at the weekend I’ll be off to the rally with them (we’re staffing), I plan to try and sell some in that lull that occurs between the end of dinner and start of the barn dance… we shall see how sales go. I feel its going to be an all or nothing affair there. So I’ll try and make up a few more mother’s day cards this evening to sell there.

Then a little while later in Mid march (weekend before Mothering Sunday) we have the county craft training morning and I’ve got the OK to sell my cards there …. So hopefully the thanks for volunteering (I’m going to point out how good they are to go with long service awards!) campfire cards will go down well there. Also I’ll no doubt replenish the Mother’s day card supply.

I’ve also adapted the Brownie Meeting poster for the cards … and stuck it up by the photocopier for the wing at work, it might just generate a few more sales.

Also watch out at SAGGA AGM as no doubt they'll come along with there too!

So at the moment I’m really crossing my fingers that sales go well Saturday night …. ‘cos I’ve got ideas for a whole new batch of cards to make!

Hmm I'm putting my energies more in increasing our household income by getting an eternal student to find some form of employment! But yep it does get annoying how little employers wish to pay engineers... at least we currently aren't too bad as LG (that's due to the former City Engineer stamping his feet lots to get market rate as he couldn't get fill vacancies.

As for the cards finally sat down last night once home to work out how many cards I'd actually sold at the Rally ... about £50 worth so not bad. That makes me happy :) ... but lots of card making required before mid March to replace those sold before the next major sales opportunity at a Guider Training.
