Snap Happy :)
A little while back I signed up to an online photography course having spent lots of pennies on my Pentax DSLR (which I love lots, but do let Dr T borrow, but then want back to play with!).
It’s a 10 week course, and so far we’ve just had 1 class, but I’ve enjoyed it so far, as its meant I’ve gone out an taken photos of things I usually just drive past with work. We had to do a portfolio to introduce ourselves, in which I had one of the first pics I took with the DSLR, of one of my brownies jumping a wave at our end of year paddle and picnic; it went down well and the more feedback I got the more I thought it needs to be shared, so once I get it sorted that will wing its way to our County PR rep (who is also a Senior section Guider so has a bumper crop from our Celb8 L8 camp as we all pooled the photos taken onto one CD that each Senior Section Guider got a copy of as well as her). It was simple to sort out at the weekend, and a wonderful resource for the future.
Back to the course…. next class comes out tomorrow, and I can’t wait! In the first class I got one photo I’m particularly proud of, and will now doubt appear on my flickr account sometime soon, but for the meantime its being my computer wallpaper at work … will it change to the best pic of class 2? It’s a silhouette of the ‘Yomper’ statue outside the Royal Marines Museum, the marine is in silhouette, but the union flag on his pack has the sunshine coming through on the bit you can see (it was light winds so his flag is a bit limp). I love the statue as I drive along the seafront in all weathers with him seemingly protecting the eastern end, but this is my first photo of him.
