Hurricane BP
I’m currently lost in a bit of a blue coloured hurricane (with the odd raspberry fleck) it seems… (hurricane seems the best description, as around here we’ve had some rather blowy days; a bit of rain but more endless drizzle). Between trying sort out things with my DC hat and getting my Commissioner warrant signed off, the Senior Section Event next weekend (but fortunately my partner in crime for the messy games is equally laid back and insane as me…), the run of Division & District meetings due on the horizon followed quickly after by Starburst with SAGGA.
Last night was another night of blue hue, I wasn’t planning to go but Kestrel was after my support … and it was going to be a night in, and I’d said to Dr T I didn’t have any Guiding meetings this week!! But last night I found myself in a meeting at the end of the road for the Division Revels, as in 2000 Kent East had a successful county Brownie Day (their STOMP), Hants East Stomp had been a bit pants so one of the Guiders there had already put in the negative vibes due to this. So last night I was passed a Dr T pacifier from Kestrel (a bar of dairy milk, a large bar so that’s got to be worth at least a terms worth!) and gave my input from having run now numerous large events … The event looks like it should run OK … as for me all the issues that could have occurred have been raised and sorted (like you can’t have Guiders taking groups around and running activities at the same time). I shall now dish out badges (think SSAGO rallies) for the mixed unit teams, as Kestrel will be sorting out the event, and then onto my 2000 event special of Springy Monkeys (first made on Pack Holiday 1994 (Jungle Book) and a Caz special ever since, at the 2000 event we made over 150 over the course of the day, mum still looks at the things and thinks of me on that day!!) & controlling the mob at lunch… so hopefully not too much hassle for me, good as I didn’t want to have a 3rd major S/G event in 1 year…
Mind you I got out of one Guiding meeting my Div Comm was tying to get me to. The clincher? I realised looking at the diary that I wouldn’t get to have my Monday night crafty session for 6 weeks! It’s the real chance for me to get ‘me’ time, usually interrupted by Guiding, but realising that last Monday would be the last time until mid August. It was something I didn’t want to go to, and others would be there … well it went for me!!! So I get a crafty night and remain sane in a sea of blue!!!!

Give me decent amounts of CDM over small amounts of fancy chocolate any day.
He got Pepperami last night! Mind you that's because it was left over from Brownie Teddy Bear's Picnic and none of us like it!
