As requested over the extended weekend by the good doctor here is a new post!
The aforementioned good doctor descended south (soon to be his home in 12days!) and spent a very much extended weekend with me returning this morning whilst I was attempting to work (my mind not really being on it and just being rather restless , I blame my morning distraction who wouldn't be there when I returned). It was a good weekend, for many reasons...
We had the meeting of the parental groups on the Sunday. It seemed to go well and they all got on well with travel to the States, Guiding/Scouting & WI seeming to popular subjects. We both escaped embarassment (yeah!) from them. I think they were relieved to have finally met each other after hearing about each other.
It was also nice to see my parents down here, last time it was saturday only as they were going on the ferry from Portsmouth so dropped in on me.
Inbetween the lunch meet up and afternoon tea at Dr T's mum's I took (or rather my dad drove us as I navigated, having not trusted his Sat-Nav with its dubious route to the lunch destination) my parents to Fort Nelson home to the Royal Armouries Artillery Collection (that's cannons to excite small (and large) boys) where there was a Medieval Weekend. I was even more surprised by on being handed the leaflet seeing that the display side of my Archery club was one of the groups doing a turn! So I've finally seen the Purbrook Bowmen Display on archery (Agincourt and all that) and its rather good if I do say so myself. I did have some of the longbowmen mentioned in an earlier post make comments about whether I went for the musket in the rapid shooting (silly fools of course not I know that a bow can shoot 6 times faster than a musket!)
Then Monday was left to the exchange of items for return to Kent, a wander around Gunwharf in the sun before parting ways .... Dr T and I had another romantic meal, lunch in wetherspoons on their 2 meal deal... after which Dr T made his suggestion for a combined hen/stag night .. nope the meeting wasn't for any annoucement .. should I be worried, or was it the Old Rosie? (yep IKB on the square has proper cider!). Besides his suggestion wasn't what I thought of for a hen night, anyway its a girls (and honourary girls) thing!
So I got to spend quite a bit of time with both my parents and Dr T as well excellent! However this extra time with the good doctor meant I missed him a tad tonight, not to worry though I see him Friday for one last fling up in the wilds of Lufbra with the car on Friday (Hmm I feel a visit to the Swan coming on...as I've got Brownie shopping to do with the envelope man on the market)
