Hmm its been a little while since I last blogged but as I’m going out to Division Meeting in a little while I thought I’d take the opportunity.

Today it seems has been somewhat filled with meetings. It started with a meeting about the new Engineering Consultancy which it seems in the minds of the people in charge can achieve a lot more than the fee earning departments (ie the ones which do the work for the departments which hold budgets) do at the moment with more of an emphasis on looking outside the council for work as we’re being asked to do stuff my other companies etc. Alas many of the people I’m working with on my secondment are having a very local government attitude to change (ie they don’t want it) and I hope that in time things go well and the propect more enjoyable work happens. Besides at the mo I’m very unmotivated as the work doesn’t stimulate me and I’m not been stretched workwise, I’m currently being treated as if I’m a fresh grad out of uni rather than a near chartership graduate in level of work and responsibility I’m undertaking. It’s not helped by the fact that for the first time since I started with the council I started the week with minus on my flexitime, not a situation I like.

At least I get to escape out to site on a scheme before too long (it seems I’m going to be doing more site work when I’m been seconded to do design work?!?!?). I’m due a meeting to discuss my training agreement before too long where fav person won’t be around (unlike our professional development meetings where I have to bite my tongue most of the time as he's there) so I can raise the concern on the lack of design and responsibility as the meeting will be with an engineer who cares about these things!

Well better get on with other bits …… sorry for the somewhat dreary posting but that’s my work like at the mo!
