I confess I’m a bit of a news junkie, with the beeb being my news provider of choice (although at this point in time I’m keeping an eye on The Bangladesh Observer, our english language paper of choice when there brought to us by a ‘paper whalla’ {district news always raised a couple of chuckles due the style of reporting}).

I often read their Magazine section as it has come interesting articles (such as the 12 days of kitchmas) and today’s big article on volunteering .. is it just for rich kids? The article was all very go and help the starving masses in Africa/ changing ner-do-wells in the UK. So I made a comment that the backgrounds of the Guiders and Girls in Guiding are wide and varied and yep we all volunteer too! They’ve even put it up :) as I was informed by a rather diappointed GOLDie type who should be on a plane to Bangladesh (hence my reading of the above publication). Other than my comment they are all about pay £xxx and go overseas type volunteering … so someone post a Scouty one to join my Guiding one ….
