I sit here having nearly completed another week in Highways. I think I have reached the ‘acceptance’ part of my secondment here. As Mel commented (following a recent conversation held with another person, they hopefully twig who they are!) when we lunched the other week; at least I didn’t leave this job and move up north to find this fact out … a lucky escape! I loved Highways once, but it no longer holds any excitement for me since I’ve worked in the world of Maritime, even doing the most mundane thing on a Maritime project leaves me feeling more enthused than a big thing on a highways project.

Its not helped today by things starting of badly due the presence/ comments of others … at least I have the best antidote to this on the horizon ... a weekend with Dr T (incorporating Mad & the Burton Beer Fest). That is assuming I get to escape this place!
