A Happy Birthday
Today is my dad’s birthday and he’s reached the fine old age of 60 (yep that’s 2 significant birthdays in one year in our family). I’m really proud, as it was unfortunately a feat not achieved by his father. So another reason I feel proud is the fact that I still have my dad on his 60th.
So in celebration we will be visiting Windows Restaurant on the top of the Park Lane Hilton (where he & mum are spending the weekend, no doubt on a cheap deal he finds) for the Sunday Jazz Brunch along with his family and friends. I think he had such a fun time celebrating with these people (and a few more) at Becca’s (aka my sister) Wedding last summer (it made a change from a funeral) that he wanted a bit more …
Mind you just ‘cos he’s 60 doesn’t mean he’s hanging up the work clothes just yet, he did plan to, but he’s not domesticated enough so couldn’t cook an evening meal for my mum! So in 18 months he’ll hang up the work clothes when mum hits the big 60 and retires.
Then in about a month’s time they head out to Peru for a new experience hols (not been to S.America before) for his super birthday treat (Mum has China in her sights for her 60th). I think they even manage to get their wedding anniversary out there (hmm is that Macchu Pichu night?!?!). Yep I’m jealous .. they have way more red coloured in on their maps!

I can recommend the Champagne Brunch, particularly when someone else is paying! It runs 12:30pm until about 4pm and the Champagne option flows from start until 2:30pm; alas I could take full advantage as I was driving back to Pompey on return to 7oaks. Lots of yummy food, particuarly puddings. Views of London (around Hyde Park area) from the 28th floor are fab.
